In short, both ionic and electrostatic air purifiers employ similar technology to lower indoor air pollution.
Both ionizing and electrostatic air purifiers work by using a process called ionization to produce ozone gas. Ozone gas is a highly reactive gas that reacts with free radicals in the air and destroys them. This method of eliminating ozone is very effective at removing harmful gases from the air and thus protecting your lungs from potential lung irritants.
